Museum of the City of New York

November 2017 - April 2022

As Digital Producer, I managed the Museum’s main website, MCNY.org, micro sites such as Activist New York, and various digital projects. I tracked all digital project administration, including contracts, budgets and payments, statements of work, and project timelines. I also directly managed relationships with external vendors: web agency, media designers, filmmakers, and software consultants.

I managed the project roadmap and strategy to enhance UX and accessibility to increase ticket sales, museum attendance, and website pageviews.

My key accomplishments include:

  • improving the site’s accessibility - I led the project to make the site meet the WCAG 2.0 AA guideline

  • redesign of the mobile view of the homepage

  • redesign of the visit page

Site templates design & online exhibitions

When the Museum closed in mid-March due to the pandemic, all of the Museum programs went digital. We had to come up with a solution quickly to promote our online offerings. I designed the UX of 3 new site templates in a week, and project managed to have them developed in a short amount of time.

Even after the Museum reopened later in 2020, these new landing pages and templates are being utilized. The exhibition called New York Responds, which opened in December 2020, is the first ever fully online exhibition of the Museum of the City of New York, and it is on the new templates.

Examples of the pages created with these new site templates:

I have also designed the UX and created wireframes for the homepage mobile view and the visit page redesigns, which are mentioned in the section above.

SEO and Google Ads

Working with the external agency, I managed our Google grant and ads. I implemented an SEO strategy that has paid off with an increase in our ROI including the Google grant itself, web traffic, accessibility, and ticket sales. I also monitored analytics for performance on KPIs, and presented monthly reports to the executive team
