Digital Project Manager & Content Creator based in New York City

Hi.

I am Chie. I completed master’s degrees in Media Ecology and Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University. After interning at Microsoft Japan and Bravo, and volunteering at GMHC, all in their web/digital departments, I have been working as a Digital Project Manager and Content Creator in NYC for over 10 years.

I also work on a project basis with small businesses and non-profit organizations, helping them with websites, digital content marketing strategies, SEO strategies, and more.

Museum of the City of New York

As a Digital Producer in the Communications and Marketing Department, I managed the Museum’s main website (MCNY.org), microsites, and various digital projects. I designed new page templates and led initiatives to enhance the sites, aiming to increase ticket sales, accessibility, and pageviews. I collaborated with curators and internal stakeholders to translate exhibitions and new business ideas into user-friendly digital experiences.

WNET New York Public Media

At WNET, PBS’s flagship station, I served as a Multimedia Editor/Producer, managing numerous websites and digital projects. I produced online-exclusive features, including blog posts, web apps, infographics, and audio and video assets, to promote TV shows and keep viewers engaged.

Video + Podcast

At the Museum of the City of New York and WNET, I have produced, shot, edited, and managed various online-exclusive video series and podcast projects. One of the videos I worked on for PBS received over 100,000 views on social media in just a few days.

Fun facts

I am from Tokyo.

In graduate school, I studied the impact of new technologies on our society and how storytelling differs across various media. Additionally, I focused on creating interactive experiences using physical computing and live video processing technologies.

My TV career began with an internship at Fox Sports Net Northwest, where I logged baseball games for editors who were creating highlights for live sports news shows, and I also created on-air graphics. The following year, I interned at Bravo (then part of Cablevision), designing Flash-animated logos for the website and creating illustrations for interactive games. After graduating from NYU, I worked at Fujisankei Communications International, Inc. as Assistant to the Bureau Chief in the news division.

In addition to my tech-related experiences, I have worked at Saks Fifth Avenue as a Sales Associate and later as a Visual Merchandiser. I also worked at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations as a Secretary, assisting diplomats in the Political Affairs Department. For the past five months, while working at WNET, I have also worked at a café and a ramen restaurant on weekends.

I am a Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor.

I love to travel.
